I bet it's a really cool game, just I had a really big issue with it from the start. I liked the decision to use a new main character, just I wish that instead of there being 3 characters, there was only one like the original game. I've always had issues with games with multiple characters to choose to play from, because I tend to (- for a reason I'm not quite sure of, -) feel like if only one character is used, the other characters would feel left out and/or get jealous. Again, I don't quite understand why I think this way, and I don't know if this is just a problem only I'm dealing with, but it practically made the game unplayable for me. I'm not saying that you should change the game, because I bet there'd be a lot of things that depended on the addition of the 2 other characters code and gameplay-wise, I'm just saying I wish you would have stuck with the original game's style in that way.
I found out how to put in the code (no spoilers) but when I wanted to look at the sprites and when I did I saw that there were more pilot sprites are you planning on adding those other sizes or are those just there to be there. And if you are adding those sizes would you add more sizes to tauma and the other guy (I can not remember his name)
From what I understand, you're going to be making a difficulty system soon, and I wanted to ask:
Would it be possible to make it possible to change the difficulty in the middle of a game?
I think it would be helpful for people who choose the highest difficulty thinking they'll be able to handle it, but end up overwhelmed and quitting the game because they don't want to play through the whole thing again on a lower difficulty just to be able to finish the game.
Not an accusation, just an assumption due to a lack of the code being mentioned here.
This is not comment to say that things are too positive or the like, its just either you are curating here or everyone knows to keep their mouth shut on a code which i as a blabber mouth find unlikely. (I have not blabbed. Yet.)
The game is good and i cannot wait to see where you go with it. Im eager to see the next build (TAKE YOUR TIME I MAY BE IMPATIENT BUT GOD ID RATHER CREATORS BE HAPPY WITH THEIR WORK THAN IT BE RUSHED FOR IMPATIENT PEOPLE LIKE ME)
Building generators is the best way to gain weight, although you do technically gain energy passively. All defensive structures for holding back the slimes are grouped in the same tab in the build menu, most of them need to be powered to work though. There's a small tutorial that you can choose to do when starting a new game, and Sen (the robo cube) can give refreshers on mechanics if you talk to him.
Ive actually had this issue too, or at least it takes a turret that im standing away from that has a gen that isnt connected to anything besides it a while to target on occasion. Only with the Mk3 lasers ive seen this i gotta add
Nope. I'll be adding difficulty options in the future, but the easy option will make enemies easier this time around instead of removing them entirely.
1. The elevators: the elevators are kinda glitchy sometimes it just randomly telports me up for seemingly no reason. Also early in the game while using the original character the normal elevator glitched me and repeatedly squished her into the ground. this stopped after i left the hitbox of the elevator.
2. The caves exit: upon exiting the caves with the pilot the character doubled in the character select room. This fixed it self after i left the room and came back.
3. Secret code:in the character select room if you use it enough times the characters frames of animations duplicate above the characters. Its kinda hard to describe.
what do people mean theyve been playing for 3 hours and won the whole game. Im 100% a single save file and its taken me 6 and a half hours. PLUS i havent even done the bottom cave yet.
Btw amazing game keep working at it:)
Update: still havent finished the game. Im writing this because theres a funny little thing that i dont think is intetnional. If you keep yousing the secret code it will continue to do its thing. Dont want to say more because ill spoil the code.
bug i found: Resolution switching seems to be entirely broken, im not even sure whats exactly wrong but touching any of the graphics settings results in either a stretched out game or a horizontally squished UI.NEVERMIND it seems the bug is that the 4:3 resolutions act weird! fullscreen causes the game to be stretched wide and windowed causes the game to be squished
also, as general feedback, i feel like the venting and gaining energy indicators should be different colors? its kinda hard to tell the difference from the direction of the small particles alone. overall great game! played it for more than 4 hours thats why i know about these bugs lol
another thing i feel would do the game well: some kind of (!) indicator on quest items or tutorial objectives. like over the "DESTROY" button when doing the tutorial or over the "special" tab when you get enough for the workbench
i dont mean like a quest system, since i feel those are pretty overdone in game design territory, but just a tiny indicator of what the player should be doing right now
only reason im giving so much critique is because god i love this game so much and i want to see it be the best it can
I am so sorry to ask but how do i do anything i place like a blue print for things but Im not able to do more than that I have pressed every button i could and nothing Im sorry for not understanding
Are you asking how you place the blueprints or are you asking what you do after you place them? Most stuff you can get by talking to Sen by walking up to him and pressing "E" after you complete the tutorial, but the tutorial itself should guide you through building.
I found a way out of bounds in the cave. You can get up to the very top by using a couple Hab Walls to build an elevator offset from the stairs leading up to the top right most blocker crystal thing. I'd show you, but...I'm stuck out of bounds, and forgot to save at all during the entire cave segment. Like a dingus
Huh. I honestly never thought about that, guess I didn't think someone would go to the trouble of building all the way up! I'll have to put a ceiling on both areas.
I gave a pretty clear hint in the V0.10.0 patch notes, but if you want something a little less obvious there's only one place in the game you can enter text.
I'll be honest, I work on the game when my schedule and my motivation overlap, which isn't really conducive to even a rough update schedule. Could be next week, could be a few months, could be anywhere in between.
Just noticed a bug that happened, While I was paused and a floating slime was near me... the slime just started to... go through the ground? Though it's position would be... mostly corrected after this happens

I actually think the others would be happy to not have to do anything.

That's all answered in the FAQ on the main page.

It might be possible, I'd have to see if it would mess anything up.
Somethin tells me chubberdy is curating this comment section
What an odd accusation.

I do also wonder if there is more than one code
ALSO ALSO, love Tauma. Adorable
guys how do i kill the slimes and like generally gain weight?
ive been tryna figure this out but just gave up and now im here and please someone respond

oh i get it now, ty man
also none of the turrets worked for me either
Are you giving them enough power? Non-generator buildings need a generator next to them to turn them on.
I do I've two mk 3 solar panels on both sides and still nothing
Only reason I can think they wouldn't be working is if they aren't fully built or the solar panels are in the shade.
No i had them in the light i dont know still a fun game my weirdness aside
Ive actually had this issue too, or at least it takes a turret that im standing away from that has a gen that isnt connected to anything besides it a while to target on occasion. Only with the Mk3 lasers ive seen this i gotta add
question is there a way to disable the slimes?
Nope. I'll be adding difficulty options in the future, but the easy option will make enemies easier this time around instead of removing them entirely.
got it and thank you for your hard work
I kinda liked the tourist difficulty that just let you chill and get fatter without having to worry.
ok finished the game, but i found some bugs:

Thats it as I said before awesome game.

People be speedrunning. Glad you're enjoying the game!

very great game, i played longer than i thought over *cough* 3 hours *cough*
When are different modes like easy or hard going to be added?
Probably next update, though I don't have a timeline on when that's happening.
I am so sorry to ask but how do i do anything i place like a blue print for things but Im not able to do more than that I have pressed every button i could and nothing Im sorry for not understanding

If you are looking for where to enter the cheat code, try entering the code in the key bind in the controls setting.
What codes exist? I will not tell you, beat the game first.
What is the "end of the game" in this
Building and using the radio tower starts the end game sequence of events.
Is there anything else after I complete the scan?
Not to sound condescending, but are you reading the dialogue?
Nope.
I played the game so many times, I started skipping the dialogue.
Could I get a hint atleast on where the cheat codes go?
I gave a pretty clear hint in the V0.10.0 patch notes, but if you want something a little less obvious there's only one place in the game you can enter text.
Anyone have a good defense setup to deal with these waves?
there is no good defense. there is only slime.
What is wacatac.B!ml?
False positive that windows defender flags, it's a pretty common issue for gamemaker games.
RIP spacethumper2 v0.10.1.zip, slayed too close to the sun, got thundercunted by windows defender
thank you my liege
Im begging pls, where do I enter the codes straight up pleeeeeease
I made a meme to vent my stress in a 9+ hour file...
You are doing some illuminati shit to Dax. A+
in the background I did (in order of drawn references):
1. Starwalker ("being a rock is pissing me off")
2. sans' skull shape (I kinda didn't feel like making the full face with the shading)
3. Bill Cypher (funni trigle)
(cannot insert the bg asset, as I saved it as a .webp file :sob:)
also, sorry if it sounded insensitive. I was just unsure if you got those references or not :(
I didn't even realize sans was in there lol. I did suspect starwalker and bill though.
that's neat to hear
the background looks like trollface
i hope it's been long enough for me to ask, but what is/are the code(s) for the cheat(s)
The codes themselves or where to enter them? Right now you can get one for getting to the end of the game if that helps.
I think they're referring to the codes themselves, but now you got me curious about where to enter them as well.
the codes themselves yeah, unless you don't want to then nevermind
I've got some ideas in mind for how I'll be rolling those out, probably going to be a reward for beating certain difficulties or doing certain things.
when will the next update come out? just a rough estimate would be nice
I'll be honest, I work on the game when my schedule and my motivation overlap, which isn't really conducive to even a rough update schedule. Could be next week, could be a few months, could be anywhere in between.
ah, i see. great to know.
